The Mareeba Rodeo. Lots of fun for us watching the bucking broncos and the bullrides! Very exciting.

Life around Mareeba. The church where Tim and the MMM crew are working on - building a stage at the moment. Jake filling in time building a scooter jump and practising some moves.
We have a look at Emerald Creek Falls just a few kms from here. And the hot air balloons that float over our van - mostly on the weekends - making a loud gushing noise with the flame, waking us up - but to a very pleasant sight!

We take a day trip from Mareeba - visiting the local markets before we leave town (and Tim and Amy go for a horse and buggy ride!). We then get a coffee at Palm Cove and enjoy the beach breeze. Mossman Gorge is next and boy it was busy the day we went - end of school holidays here in QLD. The old swing bridge has been rebuilt since we were last here. And check out my leg. The day before I had a fall whilst running and hit the gravel pretty hard.

Still on the road to Mareeba. We stop and look at Innot Hot Springs. Kids are standing in really warm water - a natural hot spring in the creek here.
Millstream is Australias "widest" falls and then we stop at Dinner Falls.

Karumba - Gulf of Carpentaria QLD

We enjoy a day trip to Karumba from our base in Normanton. Karumba was booked out so we took a picnic dinner with us to watch the sunsetting over the Gulf. We spotted a Jabiru wandering along just after the sun set. Magic.
