Coming home to Bathurst

We made it home to Bathurst, and gave a talk at our church. Then the "girls" Kathy and Kath took me to Syndey for my 40th Birthday. We tackled 2 major shopping centres in 2 days. Got Christmas sorted and had a great time.

Having our last look around Darwin. We over look Darwin from near Fanny Bay.

This twisted power pole is a relic from Cyclone Tracey.

Some of the sites around Darwin include the ruins of the old Town Hall, Parliment House and a very nice park bench sometimes reserved for the homeless! Darwin seems to be under construction as we try to have a nice quiet coffee here in the main mall of the city.

These massive ice creams were a real treat in the heat of the day. There were some casualties with the ice cream falling off the cones!!

Exploring the wharf around Darwin and getting lunch overlooking the yatchs sailing past. Very relaxing.

We have made it to the Top End and we cover the MOST ESSENTIAL tourist destinations first - the SKATE PARK and the (free) water slide park. We cant believe this is all FREE>>>>>

Our last photos of Katherine. This is called Knotts Crossing, and we happened upon a Birthday Party in progress. They were creating a mud slippery dip and invited the kids to join in. And yes the mud did wash out!!
We also enjoyed the Smiths visiting us at Morrow Farm. We all had a great visit.

The "Party". Ali and Chris, Bridget, Claire and Lucy join us for a birthday dinner. Tim "cooks" Red Rooster Chicken and Chips and Lauren makes me a fantastic 4 layered cake with cream, berries and a flake! Happy 40th to me!!! That and a nice bottle of champas! Thanks Ali!
