The Pinnicals WA

I was under the wrong impression that the Pinnicals were just a small clump of limestone finger like creations. Not so. There are thousands of them all over the national park area. Also popular at sunset according to the hoardes of visitors swarming into the park around 5pm. They do seem to change colour as the sun sets.

Jacobs Birthday!!

Jake turns 10! I manage to be able to bake a cake for him in Siska's oven (MMM).

The cake is trimmed with Toblerones!! OO LA LA. Lots of chocolate.

Jake gets a block of chocolate, a drawing book and money for his birthday. Thanks Mama and Poppy!!!!

Tim takes him to a skate park which he just LOVES! Everywhere we go Jake is looking for skate parks to ride his skooter!

The kids are singing a song "Let Your Light Shine", at the Keswick Conference. Keswick is pronounced "kesick" and is like Katoomba Conventions. It was a great time for us all.

Just as a side thing, the Perthites like to drop letters in their pronunciations - like Keswick and Cockburn - they say Coburn?? How come these letters are silent??

Perth - Mobile Mission Maintenance Work

The job was just north of Perth.

Apparently Bon Scott from AC/DC came from Freemantle and you can do a walking tour of the places that were linked to his life here. Hmm - yeah Jake - not quite.

Freemantle WA

Here we are at Freemantle, and Tim with his new hat and a cappucino to boot!! We love Freemantle and would love to spend a bit more time here.

As we leave the Red Bull Air Race we encounter 500 Bikini Clad girls raising money for Charity and also trying to break a Guiness World Record. They needed 1000 girls to do it so the record wasn't broken. All the girls had to pay $20 to enter this charity event as well. They certainly attracted a LOT of attention as they walked back across the park to get dressed.

We head into Perth again to see the Red Bull Air show. Was free on the far side of the Swan River to view this cool air show. Everyone else thought so too as it was packed with people lining the river trying to get a good shot of the show.

The Bell Tower and the Perth Wheel. Tim and the kids ride the wheel but I skip out so the cost is reduced. Really - it was cost - not that I am freaked out by heights or anything like that. Truely!

Perth WA

Here we are overlooking Perth from Kings Park. It was threatening to storm but we made it through without getting too wet. We are staying at Wattle Grove, and we are working there at the campsite to earn our keep. Today, however, we catch the train and the bus to tour Perth. We love it!

On the beach at Busselton at sunset. We met a man here who had a dog like our old Jock, and who - funnily enough - worked with my uncle in the navy as a cook. The world is very small - after all!

Busselton WA

Terrible photo - sorry. But it shows the boys working! We are staying here with the Riches Family who kindly let us park 2 caravans on their front lawn. Then they decide that Tim and Chris could put in the French doors on their entertainment room. We watched a few DVDs on the BIG screen in this room, and the doors did make a big sound difference.

Margaret River

There are plenty of these strange cows around the towns along this coast line up to Perth. I thought this one suited Amy down to the ground - in her favourite colour PINK!

We did lots and lots of TASTINGS along a road near Margaret River. Chocolate, fudge, cheese, museli, nuts and yougurt! So full when we finished.....mmmmmm.....

We go Caving at Giants Cave near Margaret River. I wasn't going to do it myself but the National Parks Lady convinced me it would be good - and it was. I only had to squeeze myself into a couple of tight holes!!! It was a self - guided tour and it was very cool!

Tim climbs up the Dave Evans BiCentennial Tree near Pemberton. A massive tree too and it was drizzling with rain this day. Everyone but me had a go at climbing up a little way.

Walpole - The Valley of the Giants

We do the tree top walk at the Valley of the Giants. The trees are impressive in size and widith. Tim is loving being close to the trees. Makes a change from the beaches.

Whale World Albany

We visit the Whale Museum at Albany. They have stopped whaling 30 years ago and they have set up the whaling company buildings into a great museum. Amy is here looking at the skeletons of whales in life size proportions. Very impressive.

Albany WA

This is the view from our overnight stopover in Albany. Tim found this spot and parked our van here for the night. He calls this "ability" to find amazing places to stop his "TIM TIM" as opposed to the navagation system called the TOM TOM. Not bad Tim.

Hippos Yawn is the name of this rock. Just amazing the way nature erodes and changes things. Kids enjoy this place near wave rock.

Wave Rock WA

One of Jacobs goals was to make it to wave rock so he could "surf" the Rock. How cool is this wonder of nature. We could here someone whispering up one end way down on the other end. A very cool place 200ks out of the way from anywhere!
