Mt Isa

We visit Mt Isa when the SHOW was on - a local public holiday here in Isa! So we grab a dagwood dog and enjoy the dodgems and the slippery dip and bungee trampoline.
Check out the fact that the mine is RIGHT in the town! Very interesting!?

QUEENSLAND!! Camooweal

Yes I know its very repetitive! Same shot but who do you leave out?? We are strongly encouraged to visit the Drover Camp here in Camooweal - and hey its free AND they do a tour - see Stumpy below our guide and drover in a past life.

We get a very special painting from Diane from the Pink Palace. Then we cross the barren Barkley Highway and make it to QLD! We arrive in Camooweal and are greeted by the VERY friendly people there - and get to hold a joey - so cute!

I find a school friend here in Alice Springs - Donna Maas from primary and high school. Amazing what you find in Woolies! We also assisted Phil and Cathy with a garage sale for the AIM church, and Cathy (who also manages the Alice Springs Railway station) took us on a private tour of the Ghan. We got to see the 3 different classes RED, GOLD and PLATINUM!

Watching the sunsetting over the MacDonell Ranges! So beautiful.

Some really amazing places. The ocre pits, Ellery Creek Rockhole and Redbank Gorge are some of the places we visit around the MacDonell Ranges.

West MacDonell Ranges

This is Simpson's Gap at the start of the West MacDonell Ranges. Bit chilly in here first thing in the morning but very beautiful and worth the look.

The Finke Desert Race is held in Alice Springs on the June long weekend, so Tim volunteers to help and we go out on the Sunday for the race. We enjoy getting into the spirit of the race with all the campers who camp along the track. You can freely walk across the track and get up close which surprised me - any silly person could easily get themselves hurt!
We help out with the jumper leads to get one of the spectators bikes going again.

Amys 7th Birthday Celebrations at Alice Springs

Amy get's her ears pierced for her birthday - she was VERY brave. Amy also requested a butterfly cake - and got 2 in return (kissing ones too!). She loved all her cards and presents. That night we had dinner with the Stuarts who we are staying with. Joshua is their son (seated at the dinner table).
On another night we took Amy to Sammy's Pizza - where there was an indoor play centre as WELL as PIZZA - too good to be true. Amy was in heaven. Her mum and dad found Sammy's Pizza a bit loud and crowded with kids and freezing cold - not sure they had any heating on.
