Tully QLD

Just 15mins drive from Mission Beach is Tully. Tim has been working in Tully replacing

the roof on this house pictured here. Tully is a sugar mill town and a banana growing area. Tully also has a very high rainfall average every year. Funnily enough it has never rained while we have visited! The Tully river is big and beautiful and Tim and Lauren did a white water rafting trip down here on the 27th August for the day. They had a great time.

Mission Beach QLD

Beautiful Mission Beach and Dunk Island. Both devestated by Cyclone Yasi. Mission has been tidyed up but Dunk Island is out of action at this stage.
Lots of parachutes landing here daily.

At the Top of the TIP! We make it to the most northern part of Australia! And then we get bogged on the beach. We are glad to get back on the road again after many miles of corrugations and dirt and dust - so we kiss the road!!!

The FALLS - Elliot Falls, Twin Falls and Fruit Bat falls up the top here off the Tele Track.

Cooktown

Cape Tribulation to Cape York

We embark on a 12 day bush camping trip that takes us from Noah Beach in the Daintree, to Cape Tribulation, the Bloomfield Track (4WD only) to Cooktown and then up the Cape and back.
We see our very first Cassowary in the Daintree. There are so many signs to warn us to slow down because they could cross the road at ANY time - but we only see this one in an orchard.

Alice, Jess and Jeremy Hopwood come to visit us in Mareeba. We take them to the Coffee World place in Mareeba, and have a day out to Karanda and Palm Cove. Was lovely to have friends come to see us - what a treat.
